Guitar Player magazine holds a Guitar Superstar Competition each year. This year it was held at the Great American Music Hall. There were 10 top finalists that were chosen to compete. Out of the 10 – there was a new face; a female face. After all the performances were complete, a barrier was shattered when the winner was announced: Ms. Genfan. 

The magazine is a male-dominated domain, which often is a tribute to speed, power, volume and gear.

Metallica’s ninth and newest album, “Death Magnetic” is currently number 1 on the album chart; however some fans are bitterly disappointed. They are not disappointed by the songs or the performance, but by the volume. They are saying it is so loud you can’t hear the details of the music.

After more than 10 years of music-video showcase, “Total Request Live” or “TRL” will be taken off the air. The show ran on MTV between 1998 and 2008 and will draw to a close in November.

To replace the Friday night slot that TRL currently holds will be FNMTV, which will feature more music videos in their entirety, have life performances and much more!
