Olympians that just missed the cut helping out?

August 19th, 2008

There are about a dozen U.S. athletes in combat sports that have been given a task some consider even more difficult sometimes than that facing the Olympians themselves. These are the athletes that just barely missed the cut for the Olympics and have been asked to play a behind-the-scenes role in preparing the U.S. Olympians.

There are mixed feelings from these athletes; younger ones who will have a chance for the Olympics again often just feel lucky to be there. Others feel frustrated and disappointed, but are still willing to help.
